About Dr. McClafferty
Hilary McClafferty, MD, FAAP is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine in the University of Arizona College of Medicine and is Board certified in pediatrics, pediatric emergency medicine, and integrative medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and completed pediatric residency training at Northwestern Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. She is fellowship trained in pediatric emergency medicine through The Children’s Hospital, Denver, Colorado, and spent 15 years in the practice of pediatric emergency medicine in large academic and private pediatric institutions. She completed the University of Arizona fellowship in Integrative Medicine in 2005, and after completing the ‘Launch the Venture’ entrepreneurial program at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2007 founded a private consulting practice, the Center for Women and Children’s Integrative Medicine, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Dr. McClafferty is certified in clinical hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and trained in medical acupuncture through the University of California, Los Angeles/ Helm’s Medical Institute. She joined the University of Arizona Department of Medicine as faculty at the U of A Center for Integrative Medicine (AzCIM) in 2011. She works with colleagues on a national level to study and develop programs to promote wellbeing in medical trainees and faculty.
Dr. McClafferty completed certification as a Physician Development Coach through the Physician Coaching Institute, and works with clients in both private practice and academic settings.
